Meetings Prep

Pairs with Meetings. How I prepare for and capture a meeting:

  • Keep meeting notes on Google Docs. One doc per recurring meeting or topic, not scattered across tools – easy to search back through later and easy to share.
  • Prepare your questions before the meeting, not during it. Walk in with your questions already framed so the time gets spent on answers and discussion, not on working out what to ask.
  • Record the meeting. You don't have to catch everything live if it's captured – you can go back and check exactly what was said, not just what you remember.
  • Transcribe it with Granola. Turns the recording into searchable text and a rough summary, so you're not the only person who can process what happened afterward. Preparing questions in advance does the same job as Hypotheses: it forces you to think first, so the meeting sharpens your thinking rather than replacing it.
